Blue Solid Timber Shaker Kitchen
Premium shaker kitchen
The brief
The clients wanted a kitchen that felt lighter and brighter, with plenty of worktop space and maximised storage capacity. They were keen to add interest with display areas using glazed units and wanted natural solid oak worktops to bring warmth to the room. Another important aspect of the brief was to include a dedicated space for Fin, their black lab, so that his bed could be incorporated into the kitchen design. A boiling tap was also requested for added convenience.
CAD Drawings & Elevation
The design focused on creating an open, airy feel by using Palladian blue for the solid timber Shaker doors, which helped brighten the space. To maximise worktop space, we designed the layout with long runs of solid oak worktops, providing plenty of room for food preparation and storage. Clever storage solutions were implemented with tall cabinets and a mix of cupboards and drawers, ensuring that all available space was used efficiently. To add visual interest and meet the client’s request for display areas, we incorporated glazed units that display the kitchenware, giving the kitchen a personalised touch. We also carefully integrated a space for Fin’s bed, ensuring it fit seamlessly within the kitchen without taking up extra room. The inclusion of a boiling tap added both functionality and a modern touch. Flick through the images below to see the drawings, renders and what the kitchen looked like before.
The Result
The completed kitchen is a perfect blend of functionality and warmth. The Palladian blue cabinetry brightens the space, while the solid oak worktops provide a natural, inviting contrast. The worktop space has been maximised, offering ample room for both cooking and storage, and the glazed display units add character and personality and the boiling water tap makes teas, coffees and cooking all much simpler! The result is a kitchen that feels light, open, and perfect for both everyday living and entertaining.
