Bright Solid Timber Shaker Kitchen

The brief

The clients’ old kitchen, with its cherry wood doors and black granite countertops, felt dark and closed off. They wanted to brighten the look of the kitchen while maintaining a classic, timeless feel. To make cooking easier, replacing the range cooker with a built-in oven and combi was key. Additionally, they wanted to open up the space to bring more natural light into the kitchen.

CAD Drawings & Elevation

The design focused on brightening the kitchen while maintaining its classic charm. We recommended Cotton-painted solid timber Shaker doors from the Woburn range, known for their timeless aesthetic. For the worktops, we selected Dekton Marina, which beautifully complements the light cabinetry and offers a durable, practical surface. In terms of layout and functionality change, we replaced the existing range with a built-in oven & combi, making the cooking easier for the family. We also reworked the layout, removing the wall between the kitchen and snug to open up the space, improve the room’s flow, and maximise natural light. The Result

The finished kitchen feels much lighter and more open, with the Cotton-painted Shaker cabinetry and Dekton Marina worktops adding a bright and airy feel to the space. By removing the wall between the kitchen and snug, we’ve created a more open and inviting layout, allowing natural light to fill the room and showcase the stunning view. The new built-in oven and combi provide give the clients exactly what they wanted, a kitchen that is both beautiful and practical.
