Solid Timber Shaker Kitchen
Premium shaker kitchen
The brief
The client wanted a kitchen that didn’t look or feel like a typical kitchen. With a beautiful open-plan space that included the kitchen, dining, and living areas, they wanted the kitchen to blend in seamlessly without dominating the room. The brief focused on a neutral colour palette, practical storage solutions, and a design that complemented the overall aesthetic of the space rather than standing out as the primary feature.

The design centres around the use of Putty-coloured solid timber Shaker doors, paired with a Silestone Capri Quartz worktop featuring a subtle gold vein. This combination, along with the addition of soft gold handles, creates a refined and understated elegance that allows the kitchen to blend seamlessly into the open-plan layout. To ensure the kitchen remains functional without overpowering the space, large drawers and clever storage solutions are incorporated, such as a Le Mans corner base unit and larder with internal drawers. This maximises storage without the need for excessive wall cabinetry, keeping the room feeling open and airy.
The Result
The final kitchen is a masterful exercise in subtlety. The Putty-coloured Shaker cabinetry is neutral and understated, allowing the space to feel light and open. The Silestone Capri Quartz worktop, with its delicate gold vein, pairs beautifully with the soft gold handles and brings a sense of warmth and cohesion to the design. The large drawers and clever storage solutions, including the Le Mans corner base unit and larder with internal drawers, ensure ample storage without overwhelming the walls with cabinets. The bespoke bi-folding dresser, sitting on a contrasting wooden worktop, adds texture and character. A kitchen that blends seamlessly into the open-plan living area, achieving the client’s goal of a space that doesn’t feel dominated by the kitchen!
